Tecolote Information 2007 - 2008
For 2007-08 we are planning a ‘great books’ take on the issue of slavery in America. For the Seminar we plan to read stories from Faulkner’s Go Down Moses, and for the tutorial, we will look at landmark Supreme Court decisions including Dred Scott, Plessy v. Ferguson, and Brown v. Board of Education. Consideration of these historical documents will help us to see our present-day views of slavery and its aftermath in light of the views of earlier times.
