Continuing Education Classes have been offered at St. John’s College since the early days of the New Program, the unique all-required curriculum based on the study and discussion of the great books that was instituted by Stringfellow Barr and Scott Buchanan in 1937. Barr and Buchanan led seminars on classic works for members of the Annapolis community…a tradition that continues.
Today, the Continuing Education program helps fulfill the mission of the college. Many kinds of students can benefit from the methods of reading and discussion central to the college curriculum. The Fine Arts program offers workshops to complement the undergraduate program at the college for our students. These classes in painting, drawing, pottery, and writing are also open to members of the Annapolis community.
Spring classes begin February 13.
The Office of Community Programs and Continuing Education is located on the second floor of the Carroll Barrister House.
