St. John's Alumnus Wins Fiction Award
St. John's Alumnus Salvatore Scibona continues to win accolades for his first novel, The End. Scibona (SF97), who was a finalist for the National Book Award, just received the New York Public Library's $10,000 Young Lions Fiction Award. The award is given annually to an American writer age 35 or younger for a novel or collection of short stories. The aim of the prize is twofold: to make a difference in the lives of writers as they begin their careers, and to encourage innovation in contemporary fiction.
Scibona reads from his novel on the National Book Foundation website.
