Pettersson has worked with André Watts, Sergei Babayan, Jean-Bernard Pommier, Dina Joffe, and the Guarneri String Quartet. An avid chamber musician, his duo (Duo Giocoso) with French violinist Roland Arnassalon released an album in 2011. Pettersson's first solo album, released in 2007, includes works by Beethoven, Chopin, Janáček, and Mussorgsky; Momentum (2010) features Liszt, Schubert, and Vine. His doctoral thesis on Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition is the foundation for a publication and performance edition.
