Take a Musical Journey to Medieval Spain at St. John’s College
The St. John’s College Concert Series presents a special musical event. The all-female quartet Anonymous 4 will perform music from 13th- century Spain. The concert, “Secret Voices: The Sisters of Las Huelgas,” is free and open to the public and will be held in the Francis Scott Key Auditorium on Friday, October 30 at 8:15 p.m.
Renowned for their unearthly vocal blend and virtuosic ensemble singing, the four women of Anonymous 4 combine musical, literary, and historical scholarship with contemporary performance. In this new program, “Secret Voices: The Sisters of Las Huelgas,” the quartet returns to their favorite century, demonstrating the beautiful interwoven melodies that women of the time sang.
