History Lectures at St. John’s Capture Local Stories in Maryland Life

What do Chalmers’ Mint, archaeological digs, and Annapolis have in common? Find out at the next Maryland history lecture at St. John’s College. The lecture, “Searching for the Chalmers’ Mint: Archeology at 10 Cornhill,” will be given by William Mumford, chair of the Anne Arundel County Trust for Preservation. The Maryland History Lecture Series is co-sponsored by the Anne Arundel County Trust for Preservation and the Friends of St. John’s College. This year the series theme is “Local Stories in Maryland Life” and each lecture focuses on a different facet of Maryland history. Mumford’s lecture, which is free and open to the public, will be held in the Francis Scott Key Auditorium on October 20, at 8:15 p.m.
Each history lecture is preceded by a candlelit dinner. Dinners, held at 7:15 p.m. in Randall Hall, must be paid for in advance. The full series of five dinners is $165.00.
