St. John's tutor Michael Grenke will give a lecture based on works by the influential German philosopher Martin Heidegger. The lecture, "The Question of Questions," will be held in the Francis Scott Key Auditorium at St. John's College on Friday, November 7, at 8:15 p.m. The lecture is free and open to the public.

Grenke's lecture will consider two questions: What is required and involved in really asking a question? and What is the most important question a human being can ask? "The lecture will focus mainly on Heidegger's treatment of these two questions and their interrelatedness, especially in the beginning of 'Being and Time' and 'n Introduction to Metaphysics'," says Grenke.

Michael Grenke received his doctorate from Boston College. He has been a tutor at the St. John's College since 1997.
