Members of the community can explore rich literary and philosophical works in two new summer weekend workshops, “Milton: ‘Paradise Lost’” and “The Death of Socrates.”  Offered through St. John’s College’s Continuing Education and Fine Arts Program, these weekend workshops will be held on June 26-27. Tuition is $135 and includes lunch on Sunday.

These intensive weekend seminars, each led by a St. John’s tutor, meet three times over the course of one weekend: from 10 a.m. to noon and from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, and from 10 a.m. to noon on Sunday, followed by lunch.

Fine arts offerings include an open pottery studio with John Jensen on Saturday mornings, from June 19 to August 21. Tuition for the 10-sessions is $185, with a $35 materials fee. Two half-day writing workshops, “ Finding Subject and Voice in the Personal Essay,” on June 5, and “Reader as Witness,” on June 12, are each $50.
