The Capitol Steps present a popular revue of songs and spoofs that ridicule public figures across all party lines as a fundraiser for the Caritas Society of St. John’s College. Political satire meets musical theater in the Capitol Steps, an irreverent comedy troupe from Washington, D.C. The show, which will be followed by a champagne reception with the performers, will be held in Francis Scott Key Auditorium on Friday, March 5, at 8 p.m. Doors open at 7:30 p.m.
Their latest albums, “Barackin' Around the Christmas Tree” and “Obama Mia!,” include new routines such as “Rudolph, the H1N1 Reindeer,” “The Twelve Days of Twitter,” “The Chap Who Threw His Two Shoes,” and “I Wrecked My Heart With Spam and Crisco.” This hilarious political and musical performance benefits student aid. This annual event routinely sells out, so attendees are encouraged to buy tickets early. Tickets are $55 in advance, $60 at the door ($35 tax deductible). For more information contact Pierre Wagner at 202-332-5501 or clairierre@verizon.net. To purchase by check, make checks payable to Caritas Society, St. John’s College, P.O. Box 2800, Annapolis, Md. 21401-2800.
The members of the Caritas Society of St. John’s College are dedicated local volunteers who help raise funds for St. John’s students who encounter unanticipated financial hardships.
