Continuing Education Programs at St. John’s College Explore Art and Literature

St. John’s College welcomes the community to participate in new programs, including weekend workshops and semester-long classes, through its Continuing Education and Fine Arts Program. Engage in lively seminar discussions of classic works, which include Melville’s “Moby Dick”, Thucydides’ “The Peloponnesian War”, and Nietzsche’s “Beyond Good and Evil”. The seminars are led by a St. John’s tutor. Participants can also immerse themselves in fine arts workshops such as “The Craft of Story: Fiction” or “Beginning and Intermediate Pottery with Raku Firing.” Fine arts instructors are noted regional artists.
Classes are held on weekday evenings on the Annapolis campus and meet once a week for six to ten sessions. Weekend seminars meet three times over the course of one weekend. Weekend fine arts workshops meet two to three times. All classes are open to the public. Spring classes begin February 11, and the registration deadline is two weeks before the start of each class. Tuition ranges from $65 to $250.
