Bill Charlap Jazz Trio performs at St. John’s

St. John’s College Concert Series presents the acclaimed Bill Charlap Jazz Trio. Their concert, which is free and open to the public, will be held at 8:15p.m. on September 23 in the Francis Scott Key Auditorium.
Formed in 1997, the Trio consists of pianist Bill Charlap, bassist Peter Washington and drummer Kenny Washington (no relation). Time magazine notes, “Bill Charlap approaches a song the way a lover approaches his beloved.” Bill Charlap, a two-time Grammy nominee, has worked with master artists, including Tony Bennett and Barbra Streisand.
