Fundraiser and silent auction features work of more than 60 local artists

“The Art of the Book,” a special exhibit at the Mitchell Gallery at St. John’s College is an event for art and book lovers. More than 60 local and regional artists will create two- or three-dimensional works inspired by books. These works will be on view and sold in a blind and silent auction, occurring both online and in the gallery. Proceeds from this  fundraiser will benefit the Mitchell Gallery’s educational programs, many of which are free and open to the public. The exhibition will be on view from June 18 to June 25, and will end with a special gala event on the evening of June 25. For more information contact Kathy Dulisse at 410-626-2530 or kathy.dulisse@sjca.edu.

The Mitchell Gallery, located on the campus of St. John’s College, attracts more than 10,000 visitors a year to its museum-quality exhibitions. Dedicated to bringing art of world renown to Annapolis since it opened in 1989, the Mitchell Gallery serves Annapolis and Anne Arundel County as a resource for viewing, discussing, and learning about fine art. The gallery connects the liberal arts with the visual arts.
