Explore Timeless Works in Continuing Education Programs at St. John’s

Every year, St. John’s College’s Continuing Education and Fine Arts Program offers members of the community the opportunity to participate in lively discussions on a rich variety of readings and art. Participants of all ages, from college undergraduates to retirees, are welcome to come and learn together. This spring 10-week and weekend seminars, led by St. John’s tutors, explore Mozart, Robert Penn Warren’s “All the King’s Men,” and works such as the poetry of Robert Frost and William Butler Yeats.
Several seminars are held on weekday evenings on the Annapolis campus. All classes are open to the public. “The Marriage of Figaro” begins on February 2 while “All the King’s Men” begins on February 15. Tuition is $210 for “The Marriage of Figaro” and $180 for “All the King’s Men.”
Weekend seminars meet three times over the course of one weekend: From 10 a.m. to noon and from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to noon on Sunday, followed by lunch. Topics include: “Thomas Aquinas on the Free Choice of the Will,” “The Poetry of Robert Frost,” “The Poetry of William Butler Yeats,” “George Eliot: ‘Middlemarch,’” “Kant: History and Politics,” and “Stoicism: Epictetus and Marcus Aurelius.”
