The St. John’s College Concert Series presents “The Happy Journey: An American Music Celebration,” performed by The Western Wind. This vocal sextet will explore American music, from early folk to new pop and jazz. The concert will be free and open to the public, and will be held in the Francis Scott Key Auditorium on Friday, November 19 at 8:15 p.m.
“The St. John’s College Concert Series has presented over 70 years of free concerts by soloists, instrumental ensembles, and singing group of American and International touring artists. It’s a wonderful gift to Annapolis cultural life,” says Eric Stoltzfus, St. John’s College music librarian.
Along with an extensive performing history that dates back to 1969, The Western Wind leads a highly-acclaimed and non-profit educational program in New York City designed to spread the joy of ensemble singing. Featuring a diverse repertoire, The New York Times praised The Western Wind as “a kaleidoscopic tapestry of vocal hues.”
