Frontline Philanthropia Volunteers-The Reunion Class Leader Program (RCLs)

One of the most effective and proven fundraising approaches is the peer to peer ask, which Reunion Class Leaders employ when they write to their St. John’s classmates during the year that precedes their reunion Homecoming. An initial letter in the fall is just the start of many communications over the reunion year, culminating in the joyful opportunity to reconnect in person on campus during Homecoming festivities.

The strength of the RCL appeal rests in the personal nature of the communication between class leaders and their peers, with the added outcome that alumni learn about the current state of the college, as well as its needs and goals. The ask for support is within the context of the relationship between classmates and each alumnus and the college. Like all alumni of St. John's College, Philanthropia volunteers work in many different fields and live across the country, but they share in the experience of the Program and a commitment to preserve it. Alumni support and involvement with the college today and in the future makes a difference!

Keeping up the Momentum—The Class Envoy Program

Class Envoys are alumni who volunteer to continue the fundraising efforts from the most recent reunion efforts, as well as ensuing years. They participate in an organized and streamlined appeal to their classmates in support of the Annual Fund. The Envoys’ primary goal is to continue the momentum and connectivity that is generated amongst alumni during reunion year efforts and to maintain the same high level of participation. With staff support from the college, they accomplish this through letters, postcards, phone calls, an online group through the online community, and/or e-mail communiqués.
