Annapolis Theater 2009-2010

St. John’s student thespians have an active theatre life. The campus theater troupe, The King William Players, stage one or two classical plays a year, performs one or two modern works, and produce several one-act plays. Recent productions have included Lion in Winter, Hamlet, The Misanthrope, The Man of La Mancha, A Man for All Seasons, and a modern interpretation of As You Like It.
In December, the King William Players present Twelfth Night, Or What You Will, by William Shakespeare, directed by St. John’s sophomore Tessa Nelson. “The play evolves from something hysterically funny, to poignant and touching, as you get to know the characters throughout the course of two hours,” she says. The performances, which are free and open to the public, will be held in the Francis Scott Key Auditorium.
