Campus Life in Santa Fe
Buying Books
The Campus Bookstore stocks all books required for St. John's classes. Multiple translations and/or editions are available of most books on the reading list. Should you buy all your texts at the start of the year? It depends. Your tutors may express a preference, and you're going to hear many opinions from upperclassmen. You will also develop your own tastes. The basic things you need to begin are: C.A.E. Luschnig’s Introduction to Ancient Greek, Second Edition, Euclid's Elements, and volume 1 of the Freshman Lab Manual.
The Bookstore accepts VISA, Discover, MasterCard, or American Express credit cards. Naturally, personal checks with a phone number and cash are also welcome.
What the Bookstore stocks: program books, extensive titles of fiction, poetry, reference, history, sciences, philosophy, religion and Eastern studies, and selected titles in writing, drama, language studies, biographies and criticism, mathematics, nature and the Southwest, art books, children’s literature and music.
Special orders are taken at no extra charge. There is also a variety of sweatshirts, T-shirts, baseball caps, and other SJC paraphernalia. The Bookstore carries office supplies like notepads, pens, binders, and pencils, and an assortment of basic sundries. The store also offers a fax service.
The Bookstore is open Monday through Thursday, 8:45 a.m.—7.30 p.m.; Friday 8:45 a.m.—5 p.m.; closed Saturday; and Sunday 2 p.m.—8 p.m. They are closed for major holidays.
