St. John's College has a single aim: liberal education, providing the intellectual and moral grounding to live the examined life.
"With a Clear and Single Purpose:" The Campaign for St. John's College aims to strengthen the college financially, securing the future so that the Program can flourish.
Goals of the Campaign for St. John's College
- $33 million in endowment and Annual Fund for need-based fianancial aid, to ensure access for all students admitted to the college.
Raised $43.6 million. - $3.5 million in endowment and Annual Fund to improve services to students, fund internship opportunites, and provide grants for teachers to attend the Gradutate Institute. $5 million in endowment and Annual Fund for the St. John's Improvement Fund (ensuring excellent library collections and laboratories; improving information technology)
Raised $14.4 million. - $34 million in endowment and Annual fund to increase faculty salaries to the median of peer institutions and provide more faculty development opportunities
Raised $29.3 million. - $49.5 million for building projects on the two campuses. Fundraising for these projects is separate from both endowment and Annual Fund: Dormitories, renovation of Evans Science Lab, renovation of Mellon Hall, Graduate Institute building in Santa Fe
Raised $43 million. Undesignated $ 3.7 million.
Goal: $125 million
Total Raised: $ 134 million
Closing celebrations: July 25, 2008 in Santa Fe and September 13, 2008 in Annapolis.
