More than a dozen alumni wrote in to identify the Johnnies in this picture, taken at the annual croquet match about 10 years ago. Erik Stadnik (A) was among them: “The dancing couple is Josh Emmons (A99) and Laurel Caldwell (A01), and I believe it's from Croquet '99, but I could be wrong about that. Great picture--brings back a lot of wonderful memories.”.

Malinda Campbell (A97) wrote from London with an explanation for this picture: “As a late freshman, I created the Orientation programme with two juniors, under Eva Brann’s watch and support. I don’t think we had done much for the newcomers before then and recall a few of us writing proposals, having a million meetings and trying to get something started for incoming freshmen.” That's Malinda in the plaid shorts. On her right, Joseph Manheim; on her left is Zoë Andriolo. Also in the picture: Mark Whipple, Lynette Dowty, Felix Leslie and Rana Choi. “I can’t remember everything, but I know we paired certain upperclassmen with freshmen in an informal buddy-system - a kind of introduction to college/academic life. We ran workshops (all student-led), had more candid q&a sessions about student life, introduced freshmen to the clubs and committees on campus, and had social activities organised. ”
