Visiting the Annapolis Campus
CAMPUS VISITS
St. John's is academically and socially unlike other colleges. Visitors to the campus arrive with questions, doubts, misconceptions, and often with a fair amount of skepticism. Whether you come for a day visit or the full overnight experience, we hope you will have enlightening and fruitful conversations with our students, faculty, and staff.
TOURS AND CLASS VISITS
Please reserve a place on one of our tours by contacting the Admissions Office (1-800-727-9238 or admissions@sjca.edu) at least twenty-four hours in advance.
One-hour campus tours are available:
Monday through Friday 9:00 am and 2:30pm (1:30 pm in the summer)
Saturday 1:00 pm
Prospective students on the 9:00 am tour during the academic year have the option of observing a class at 10:20, then returning to the Admissions Office for an information session at 11:30, or going straight to an information session after the tour.
OVERNIGHT VISITS
To see as much of the college as possible, consider an overnight stay. It's a twenty-four hour immersion into the community. You will stay in a dormitory room and have meals in the campus dining hall. Guides will show you the campus and introduce you to tutors and students, and you'll have plenty of time to explore on your own and have impromptu conversations with a variety of people. You will attend seminar on Monday or Thursday evening, and follow a full freshman schedule the next day. An interview will be scheduled for you with an admissions staff member or a tutor.
What is most important is that you talk with students and tutors about their life here. The St. John's community is a community of learning, and you'll find a lot of dedication to the academic program. You'll also discover the ways in which the life of the classroom permeates the life of the community.
Overnight visits are generally scheduled for Monday/Tuesday and Thursday/Friday during the academic year. See the visit calendar to check specific dates for availability.
Parents: We are pleased to have parents of prospective students see the campus and go on an informative tour. Please consider staying with one of our local business friends, who provide support to the college.
Reservations
To make arrangements for an overnight visit, call or email the Admissions Office. Space is limited; please reserve as far in advance as possible, and refrain from booking travel until you have a confirmed reservation for our program. Our visit calendar shows available dates, but is not necessarily updated the moment a date is full.
