As the official Office of Records for students pursuing degrees at St. John's College, Santa Fe, the Office of the Registrar is authorized to issue official transcripts, to certify the enrollment and attendance of students, the awarding of degrees, and other matters of record. The Registrar has the responsibility to maintain timely and accurate records of the academic progress of its students, while maintaining the privacy and security of those records.
As a central administrative office for the College, the Office of the Registrar is responsible for scheduling classes into the space available in the general classroom pool, scheduling students and faculty for classes, grade recording, and grade reporting. This office provides data for internal and external use, assists college officers and directors by furnishing needed data and other services, and renders services to the alumni by providing transcripts and certifications and other records needed.
The Office of the Registrar places service to current and former students and faculty first among its priorities, recognizing these persons as the Office's primary constituency.

- Student Right to Know Act: In compliance with this act, the Offices of the Registrar (Santa Fe or Annapolis) will provide and make readily available, upon request, completion or graduation rates to current and prospective students.
