The College Events Office, located in the basement of the Peterson Student Center, promotes non-academic opportunities for students to socialize and to escape from the rigors of the Great Books Program. This includes Concerts, Films, Theater and Social Events such as Parties, Study Breaks and the student/tutor social hour known as ‘Nabla’.
The College Events Office also maintains and operates all of the College’s Audio/Visual materials. They are always open for new suggestions and welcome input from students.
Their office is located in the basement of Peterson Student Center. If you have any questions about the following activities that the College Events office promotes please call extension 6139 for more details.
The College Events Office is led by Cobalt Blue. Cobalt graduated from the Santa Fe undergraduate program in 1992. He worked for four years on the Annapolis Campus as Assistant to the Director of Laboratories. During that time he completed his Masters in Humanities from California State University. He then went on to complete the Eastern Classics Program in Santa Fe. Cobalt also hosts a late night program on KSFR 90.7, the local public radio station.
CONCERTS
Apart from the many bands and performers that the College Events Office books, the College Events Office hosts between four and six classical music concerts every year. These usually take the Friday night lecture spot but are occasionally found at other times.
The College Events Office occasionally secures and distributes tickets to events by Santa Fe Pro Music and other local artists which take place at the Lensic Performing Center. Open mics are held approximately once per month in the Coffee shop. Students are encouraged to show off their talents and to perform music, poetry etc…
TOWN BUS
The College Activities office offers transportation into town for shopping every Tuesday. The Van leaves the circle at 4:15 p.m. and returns by 6:30 p.m

STUDY BREAKS
The College Events Office will host Study Breaks in the Great Hall throughout the semester. These consist of several hours of cartoons. Refreshments will be served. Check the Student Activities Bulletin Board in Peterson (across from the coffee shop) for the dates of Nabla and Study Breaks.
