JOB TITLE: Admissions Counselor
Posted: December 18, 2009
Role: To assist prospective students in the admissions process; calculating transcripts, entering test scores,
and processing all necessary academic documents for admissions. This position is also responsible or ensuring day to day operations are completed within the office and that the admissions process is followed for all students. As a Territory Manager, extensive work cultivating student-prospects is required.
Major Duties and Responsibilities: Enter applications and prospects into database. Travel extensively for recruitment. Calculate and enter transcripts, test scores and other academic documents. Interview and meet with students and parents. Assist staff and students in the admissions process. Enter data on Prospect Management. Attend meetings related to the admissions process. Perform related duties as required.

Supervision Received: Director of Admissions.
Supervision Given: Work-Study Students.

Status: Full-time, Exempt.
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience: Six months to two years of similar or related experience.
Education: A college degree.
Interpersonal Skills: A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or can be of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating or influencing others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.
Other Skills: A minimum of one year's experience in a related field is necessary; higher education required. Must possess basic clerical skills and computer proficiency (MS Office preferred). Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills are necessary. Ability to maintain confidential information in a professional manner is required. Must be willing and able to travel and must have a valid driver's license.
Working Conditions: Work is performed primarily in an office setting. Manual and Finger dexterity required. Long hours and weekend work is required.
