Title: Financial Aid Coordinator

Reports To: Director of Financial Aid

General Purpose: Assists the Director and Assistant Director with the administration of federal, state, and institutional aid programs.  Provides students and families with general information about financial aid resources, aid eligibility requirements, and the financial aid application process.  Assists students and parents with properly completing aid applications and reviews the completed forms for accuracy and completeness.

Duties: Responsible for the generation and mailing of document tracking correspondence, award letters and loan proceed notifications.  Works with the Department of Education and Lenders to ensures compliance with federal loan disbursement regulations.

Utilizes the PowerFAIDs and CX financial aid software to facilitate the collection and tracking of required documents from aid applicants through all phases of the financial aid process.  Coordinates data collection and data verification of ISIR electronic student information records transmitted to the College by the Department of Education’s Central Processing System (CPS).

Ensures that federal regulations are met in the entrance and exit loan interview processes for borrowers of federal Stafford loans.  Generates reports needed from PowerFAIDs to integrate with the Ceridian and CX systems.  Maintains the integrity of student records both in PowerFAIDs, CX, and in the student files.  Supervises the work of student employees.

Compiles and prepares statistical and financial reports. 

Updates and maintains written and web-based financial aid information and facilitates the dissemination of financial aid information to students and parents.  Handles incoming phone calls and reception of visitors to the office.  May perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and 2-3 years of experience in financial aid, or other acceptable combination of education and professional experience.  Competent in the use of computers with ability to learn new systems.  Knowledge of database systems, statistical analysis, and electronic processing of aid is a plus. Ability to work with the College community.

Compensation: Grade 10, Minimum Salary $36,386.00.  Excellent benefit package.

Title: Assistant Director of Personnel   

Reports To: Director of Personnel

Duties: Manages administrative aspects of recruitment and job placement activities by placing job posting and ads, speaking with candidates, sending acknowledgement letters, working with supervisor or committee to schedule interviews.  Keeps records and prepares statistical reports concerning recruitment, interviews, hires, transfers, promotions, and terminations. Writes offer letters and send initial packet of information.  Conduct background investigations and works with on-boarding new employees.

Responsible for the administrative aspects of various employee benefit plans such as life, health, dental, disability plans, pension plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and unemployment insurance. Enrolls new employees in benefit plans and provides benefits orientation. Processes status changes and reviews claims. Maintains vendor contact to investigate discrepancies and provide information in non-routine situations. Maintains employee benefit files and other record keeping.

Administrative projects include production of a monthly newsletter, arranging for administrative training and wellness programs, planning and producing staff recognition programs. Provides clerical and organizational support for the Director of Personnel.  Types correspondence, reports, and confidential matters all of which require a great attention to detail.  Organizes, maintains, and updates database and filing systems. Prepares correspondence. Performs general office duties including answering telephone, filing, maintaining equipment, greeting visitors, and maintaining inventory of office supplies. Works on special projects.  Performs related duties as required.

Qualifications:   BA degree and three years related experience, preferably in personnel, insurance, accounting, bookkeeping, or payroll, or acceptable combination of education and experience. Good organizational skills.  Ability to interact well with campus community.  Good verbal and writing skills, computer literacy, financial aptitude as well as ability to maintain accurate and detailed records.  Experience with Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, and relational database.

Compensation: Grade 12, Minimum Salary $44,931.00.  Excellent benefit package.

Title: Bookstore Floor Supervisor, Part-time 25 hours per week

Position Available: September 13, 2010

Reports To: Bookstore Manager

Duties: 

Hours:  Bookstore hours are 8.30-5.30 Monday-Friday and 11.00-4.00 on Saturday.  Within these times, the Bookstore Floor Supervisor is required to work a total of 25 hours per week, on a fixed shift basis, comprising four weekdays plus Saturdays.  One weekday is taken as a regular day off.

Required Qualifications: High School diploma or GED, some college course, retail experience, or acceptable combination of education and experience.  Service oriented.  Basic computer skills.

Desired Qualifications: Work experience in a bookstore or other retail environment, advanced degree and/or SJC experience.

Compensation: Grade 7 Minimum Hourly Rate $13.03.  Excellent benefit package.

Title:  Senior Development Officer

Reports To: Director of Advancement Planning & Operations

Duties: The Senior Development Officer will fundraise for the annual fund and for other special projects.  Specific duties will include identification, cultivation, and stewardship of donors, supervision of class agents and other advancement volunteers, planning and execution of phonathons.  Weekend and evening responsibilities involved.  Some travel required.

Identify and manage prospects. Proactively identifies top annual fund and major gift prospects.  Establish and manage a reunion class program. Oversight of phonathons. Attends official college functions as appropriate. Other duties as required. Some travel, weekend, and evening work required. Reports to Director of Advancement Planning & Operations.

Specific responsibilities include: making monthly targets for contacts as part of a coordinated cultivation strategy for annual fund donors; timely solicitation of all assigned prospects; prospect identification and management;  build and strengthen relationships with volunteers in order to maximize fundraising results; 

Qualifications:  B.A. degree and five years experience in development, higher education administration, or communications.  At least two years direct experience in development should be included in the above.  Must have strong organizational skills, demonstrated initiative, excellent verbal and written communications skills. Must have a commitment to higher education and an ability to relate well to all constituencies of the College community and the general public.

Prefer Experience with Raisers’ Edge software, Knowledge of the St. John’s program, Professional experience in higher education fundraising, Knowledge of marketing, 5 to 7 years development experience

Compensation: Grade 12 Minimum Salary $45,042.  Excellent benefit package.
