The Graduate Council

The Graduate Council is an organization that focuses on issues of importance and concern to Institute students. The council consists of two members from each graduate tutorial, who volunteer or are elected at the beginning of each term, and of student members at large who meet the attendance requirement for becoming such. Four elected officers lead the council and are responsible for scheduling and conducting regular weekly meetings. The council addresses the concerns of the graduate students of St. John’s College to the college community.

The student activity fee ($35 per term) is used by the Graduate Council to defray the expenses of special academic events, Thursday evening after-seminar gatherings, picnics, sports events, guerrilla seminars, and paper readings.

The Graduate Council welcomes all graduate students to become involved in planning--not only social activities, but also extra-curricular seminars and study groups.
