10:00 a.m. to noon Graduate Institute New Students' Orientation Seminar on Plato's Meno, 70-86d, with follow-up discussion, in the Barr-Buchanan Center in Rooms 109 and 304. Noon to 1:00 p.m. Lunch is provided by the Graduate Council for new and transfer students in the Barr-Buchanan Center, Room 109. 1:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Campus Tour 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Step I: Registration for new students, Santa Fe transfers, students with outstanding financial aid matters, and students who have not received a class schedule. Come to room 207 in Barr-Buchanan. (Students' accounts must be paid prior to registration.) Step II: Students who plan to park on campus must register their vehicles for fall semester campus parking permits. Bring $30 cash or check, vehicle registration, insurance card, and license plate number to the Barr-Buchanan Center lobby. Step III: New and transfer students activate their St. John's computer/e-mail accounts in the Barr-Buchanan Center, Room 304. Returning students with inactivated SJC e-mail accounts should activate theirs at this time as well. Step IV:Photo-identification-key cards will be made for new students and for Santa Fe transfers, and revalidated for all returning students, in the Assistant Dean's Office, Mellon Hall. Step V: Students should check their new fall mailboxes in the basement of McDowell Hall, and frequently thereafter. (Those students who have received schedules or class lists and fall mailbox assignments by mail will find their student identification re-validation stickers in their new campus mailboxes.) 4:15 p.m. Convocation and Reception, Great Hall, McDowell Hall 5:15 to 6:30 p.m. First tutorial class meetings. 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. First preceptorial class meetings. |
